London Lifestyle Photo Session | London Portrait Photography
Diana and us planned this surprise lifestyle photo session in London before her and John left for Chicago, leaving London behind to start a new adventure, where John’s family would be waiting with open arms. As Diana is working as an architect, we were clearly going to venture into beautiful buildings and not the usual parks. And absolutely loved every new place we discovered even if we couldn’t take many photographs, due to London being forever in construction. But can’t wait to go back to quite a few places, there’s always a hidden gem in this city.
First building we managed to go into is Wilton’s Music Hall, an incredibly unique place, surrounded by council estates oddly enough, comprising a mid-19th Century grand music hall attached to an 18th Century terrace of three houses and a pub . History and a strong-willed character are written everywhere on the walls. Now this stunning Music Hall is a thriving arts and heritage venue entertaining thousands of people each year. Heartfelt thanks go to the guy at the Mahogany Bar for letting us spend there as much time we needed for some low-light photographs in this beautiful pub. It was basically all ours and what a beautiful place to shoot in.
After this, we had to force ourselves to leave the place as it was too awesome, for a completely different location I had in mind for quite some time, where I got a door crush. No, really. St. Paul’s Cathedral is a stunning anglican church where Prince Charles and Lady Diana happened to get married in 1981. It’s of an incredible beauty and the entrance is made of a massive wooden door that screams to be photographed.
It was such a fun day feeling like an explorer in this big city each time, so to end the evening properly, John and Diana took us to another of London’s gems, the Walkie Talkie Building, or The Sky Garden, as it’s formal name is, a unique public space that spans three storeys and offers 360 degree uninterrupted views across the City of London. This means huge windows all around, with the most beautiful view of London. And it was all free! How I love this place.
John and Diana, you guys were so much fun to spend the day with. We wish you the best in this new adventure and don’t forget London will always be here waiting for you.
