Istanbul City Guide | Destination Wedding Photographer
We’re travellers. Born to be nomads. It’s so liberating to have no schedules, meetings or deadlines. You can just be and experience something completely out of the ordinary.
Whilst traveling, I believe it only deepens the experience if you meet strangers, locals to that new place and find bridges to connect at some level, so you are allowed to be emerged in their culture as superficial or deep as you can get.
Right before our two days adventure around Istanbul started, I was sitting next to this lady in the bus, from the plane to the airport entrance. It was less then 10 minutes and somehow, it was one of the most meaningful discussions I have had probably the entire month.
A fair skin middle aged lady, she asked me where I was going and why there. I told her, my only aim for this month was to explore, rest and grow.
She then said: “I often ask people- How big is your garden?… It’s not the fence or the square metres or the flowers. It’s the Oceans and the mountains and the people you meet on the way. “
Istanbul made me richer. I truly felt so inspired by this place and loved every moment walking around here. I hope one day to get back here. Until then, I have some sweet memories walking around the streets without any idea of what was next.
Special thanks to Radu Benjamin for the following 2 photos of us. It’s awesome having a photographer with you on a trip, you actually get to be IN photos, as well!
