My Most Favourite Bohemian Wedding Bouquets For Unconventional Brides
/ bohemian definition /
a socially unconventional person, especially one who is involved in the arts.
socially unconventional in an artistic way.
It seems that, a bohemian bride (in our case) is an unconventional person in an artistic way.
Considering traditional wedding flowers would normally be a smaller bouquet made of white flowers (most likely roses) , the tradition now is to break the rules! Out with the princess-type wedding bouquet and in with the branches, berries, big crazy flowers and all the colours of the rainbow! From wild flowers to exotic plants or greens, there’s so many ways to show your unconventional side!
Here’s some pin-worthy bohemian wedding bouquets we absolutely adore and the florists deserve a huge shout out for their incredible talent!
1. Krystle’s wild bohemian wedding flowers for an elopement up North
The sweetest American girl you could meet, Krystle wanted something wild for their dream Northumberland elopement ( see their wedding on the blog, of course). We’ve also shared their day as part of our 10 favourite outdoor wedding ceremonies, if that’s something you’re thinking to do, as well!
Her wedding bouquet was made by Jules, a lady they’ve randomly met whilst visiting Tynemouth for the first time and it was her one and only choice when it came to picking a florist.
How beautiful does she look?!
You can find Jules on Instagram, @jules_fleur .
2. Jess’s wild bohemian bouquet for a New Forest wedding
If you’re looking for some inspiration on bohemian wedding flowers and decorations, you should definitely see their wedding day, held on her parent’s property! Obviously they had an outdoor wedding ceremony as well, as nothing was done by the books and we so loved being at this wedding!
Her wedding florist was Melissa, from JamJar Flowers and she’s the one who made the day look even more spectacular than it was.
3. Chloe’s Something Blue Bohemian Wedding Bouquet
It’s incredible to see how different each flowers are and how well they match people’s personalities, actually!
Chloe had a beautiful and chic bohemian wedding bouquet and it was also Something Blue for her wedding day. Another stunning outdoor wedding ceremony with a gorgeous and happy couple living in a forest. A bit jealous but at least we got to shoot their barn wedding !
I am afraid we don’t know the name of the florist but hope it’s inspiring you nevertheless. Her dress is from Erin Fetherston if you’re wondering!
4. Katy’s Winter bohemian wedding bouquet for a humanist wedding
It was the first time we photographed a humanist type wedding and also being in the North of the country! On the week of the wedding, together with her mom, Katy bought the flowers and greens she loved most and they started making all the bouquets and decorations!
Don’t think I could have ever been this brave, but they did such a fantastic job, isn’t it? It goes to show you can do it yourself if you’ve got the talent and passion for it!
5. Hannah’s bohemian wedding flowers for a celebration by the sea
I must admit I really wish I had personally been part of this wedding! Sam did a fantastic job photographing their wedding day! I love how it all came together with the gorgeous bridesmaids wearing white dresses and the bohemian wedding flowers by Jane at Graham Greener.
Their East Quay wedding is on our blog for more sea side inspiration and lots of fairy lights!
6. Jess’s massive bohemian wedding flowers to match her fun personality
This has most certainly been one of the biggest wedding bouquets I have ever seen. Ever. It was so heavy you could barely hold and so beautiful and wild and crazy, rich in colour and quirky and everything in between. There couldn’t have been a better match for her big personality and Abigail from Albert and Arthur has completely outdone herself!
I love how Jess decided to do everything fun and big and it was one of the best weddings of the year, you might want to have a look!
7. Alexandra’s King Proteas Flowers for a Bohemian Wedding Bouquet in Santorini
Some flowers are simply a work of art and Alex had a masterpiece. King proteas are simply the most stunning of them all and they are also easy to dry so you can keep them forever and ever!
Although she planned everything from miles away for her destination wedding, the bride found the most fantastic florist in Santorini, Betty Flowers Santorini. Seriously, how stunning are these bohemian flowers?
If you’re considering a destination wedding or elopement, you might want to see this entire wedding from Venetsanos Winery and all the magnificent vendors!
8. Asha’s bohemian wedding flowers for a Spring dream
Sasha from Sassflower did this gorgeous flower arch I still swoon about! You can check the entire gallery from their Plas Dinam Countryside wedding on our site, as every single detail is so beautiful!
9. Stacey’s bohemian wedding flowers for a countryside fairy tale
These guys had planned for a beautiful barn wedding in the Cotswolds and her wedding bouquet were a bohemian dream. Every flowers used was in perfect harmony with one another and India with her team from Vervain Flowers did a fantastic job! All flowers were homegrown by the florist, as well!
10. Abbie’s bohemian wedding bouquet for a homespun fairy tale
This bohemian homespun wedding happened few years back but the style and the wedding bouquet is still fresh in my mind so I had to share it with you! The bride, an artist through and through planned everything in such detail and designed most of the details from her wedding. Even the silk bows tying the bouquet were dyed by her to match the flowers! I’m in love with this wedding after so many years and the Sun softly kissing her ginger hair.
The only thing she didn’t do herself was the bohemian wedding bouquet, for whom she hired the team from The Flower Loft. You should really see the entire wedding, it’s a beauty, just like they are!
So it seems we have in the end 10 favourite bohemian wedding bouquets to date, all so unique and beautiful, for any season or colour preferences! It’s also interesting that most brides also went for an outdoor wedding ceremony, to fit in with their wild spirit! No matter the location, bohemian wedding flowers are always a good idea!
Hope you enjoyed this as much as we loved going back down the memory lane! Don’t forget to start pinning your dream flowers!
